Hybrid clouds are increasingly being viewed as a norm by large enterprises. This cloud marketplace will initially provide cloud space ranging from Big Data analytics to security purpose for mobile and web.

Back in February, IBM also launched BlueMix open cloud platform with a billion dollar investment and now also looking to accelerate the investment. This platform also offers an oppurtunity for developers to build and test various applications just like in a sandbox environment.

IBM is planning to launch 30 new services in BlueMix for growth in various areas such as big data analytics, cloud integration, dev-ops and Internet-of-Things. IBM has made a series of investments on cloud technologies with around $1.2 billion with global data center expansion for SoftLayer, $1 billion for establishing Blue PaaS and more than $7 billion in 17 acquisitions, including Aspera, Cloudant and Silverpop.
