Google Fiber now comes to
Austin, Texas, as this is the third city where Google Fiber is
getting launched and also the city is biggest in terms of population.
Similar to the Kansas
fiber model, Google will also plan three separate residential
options. Google Fiber is also planning to built more fiberhoods for
education and research facilities.
The three Fiber options
includes:
- A downloading speed of 5Mbps and 1Mbps for uploading speed for free with one-time $300 installation fee.
- 1Gbps fiber internet for mere $70 per month.
- 1Gbps fiber internet, 150 channels to access and 1TB cloud storage for $130 per month.
The first option is
available to anyone, who instantly wants an internet connection for
free. This scheme is good for people with rental properties, allowing
their tenants to use internet with a new package available from
Google.
The second and the third
options are high-speed broadband options for those who need 1 Gbps
fiber optic speed. Currently, Google Fiber is the only one to provide
such high-speed internet. Other service providers like Verizon and
Comcast provide internet speed under 300Mbps and under 50Mbps is
certain areas.
