John Lagerling - director of Android global partnerships, later announced that they have come-up with an idea of no payments from either sides. As per John Lagering's words that he told to BBC, "This is not a money-changing-hands kind of deal, instead the idea is to have some fun, unexpected and productive". Earlier Nestle has also faced criticism for promoting the powdered baby milk and affecting its brand name in the global market. It has also called off its various products including the dog food soon after the Salmonella threat in the US.

Even Google has also been involved in many controversies of his own, one which includes the recent reports from US government implying more and frequent malware attacks on Android devices compared to any other. Google has codenamed each of its Android versions after a kind of treat such as Cupcake, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice-Cream Sandwich and Jelly-Bean.

Mr Lagerling made a cold call to Nestle's advertising agency at UK during November end to propose the alliance and Mr Patrice Bula the marketing chief of Nestle agreed upon it. Mr Bula also acknowledged the risks invloved, saying that he can even get fired if the OS is prone to crash or vulnerable to malware as that can spoil the KitKat's brand image.

Finally executives from both the ends met at a secret event held at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February to finalise the deal.
