Top Useful hidden Features of iPhone 6 & 6 Plus

Do you know everything about your iPhone 6 and 6 Plus? These iPhones possesses some unbelievable hidden features that can may come very handy at times. Today we'll share some very handy but hidden features of iPhone 6 and 6 Plus.

"Send Last Location" Feature

A Send Last Location feature has been added to Find my iPhone so that your GPS coordinates are backed up to iCloud whenever your battery life is close to running out.

Just before the battery shuts down, the last thing the device does is pinpoint exactly where you left it, so there’ll be no need to turn the house upside down for your phone when it’s sitting pretty in the office.

Complete Battery Usage Breakdown

A new option in the usage menu under Settings will be able to tell you; it provides a breakdown of how much battery each app has used in the last 24 hours or seven days.

Option to Quit Group Conversation

If you’re not watching the same programme your friends are live messaging and fancy a little respite, you can also select the Do Not Disturb option to stay in the conversation, but silence it.

Switch to Grayscale Mode

Anyone interested in giving their device a vintage twist, the Accessibility menu now offers a ‘grayscale’ option, that gives the entire operating system a black and white hue.

Self-Destruction Pics

Apple appears to have taken a leaf out of Snapchat’s book with this new feature. When using iOS 8’s messages app, holding down on the camera icon opens the camera app, and any pictures or videos sent from here will self-destruct two minutes after being sent.

Share Your Location via Messaging

iOS8 allows users to share their location directly through Messages. Under Details, you can choose the option to ‘Send My Current Location’, and a mapped image will be sent to the recipient – useful for when your friend asks where to meet you.

Now Your Tweets Will be Visible in Google Search

Twitter's CEO Dick Costolo confirmed about the firehose deal with Google, under which tweets will be visible in Google search. Now clicks may increase and Twitter can monetize those pages.

It will be the first time that Tweets will appear in Google searches after they disappeared in 2011. They will not start appearing for another “several months,” Costolo said on the company’s Q4 earnings call today.

The last time Google and Twitter worked together on a firehose agreement was in 2009. Twitter is very focused right now on bringing more traffic to its content and then monetising that, and that has taken a very specific form for the company: showing tweets to people who are not already Twitter users.

Twitter estimates that there are some 600 million people who already land on Twitter pages as “logged-out” (that is, unregistered) users, compared to the 288 million registered monthly active users it has today.

According to Costolo's words, "We’ve had a relationship with Google for years, We’ve got the opportunity now to drive and aggregate eyeballs to logged-out experiences that we plan to deliver on the front page of Twitter."

It could also potentially mean more enhanced results beyond simple text, if Twitter extends the firehose to include Twitter Cards as well, or other kinds of data like location.

Apps That Are Dangerous & Your Kid Might Be Using

Kids get fascinated very rapidly by the latest technology, and that means they might be using several apps that you don't want them to use without your concern. Let's have a glimpse on such dangerous apps that you child can use.

Snapchat

Snapchat is a picture-messaging app whose claim to fame is that the messages last only for a few seconds once they're opened, then supposedly evaporate into thin air. In theory, you can send embarrassing or risque pictures without being afraid someone will steal or distribute them.

Tinder

While Snapchat has uses besides sharing inappropriate images, Tinder is all about meeting new romantic partners, which probably isn't something you want your teen doing with strangers.

If two people like each other, they can have a conversation through the app and potentially "hook up." Again, broadcasting images to strangers and potentially meeting them on a whim is not something teens should be doing, in my parental opinion.

Vine

Vine, which lets you record and share six-second videos, seems like a totally safe app at first. It gets dangerous when you consider how strong peer pressure is on social media.

Teens, as I'm sure you remember, will do almost anything for acceptance and attention. And the best way to get attention on social media is to do something edgy or crazy.

Whisper

Whisper, an app built specifically for spreading rumors and secrets, lets users post pictures and text anonymously. Apps like Whisper could potentially be a good outlet for teens, as anonymous confessions can help people unburden themselves.

But Whisper shares the secrets based on geographic location, so the users nearest to your child are the ones more likely to see the secret.

9Gag

9Gag is one of the most popular apps for distributing memes and pictures online. The risky part for teens is that all kinds of pictures are shared on 9Gag. These pictures aren't moderated and could come from any uploader and feature terrible images you don't want kids seeing.

5 Amazing iPhone Tricks that You Never Knew

An iPhone is amazing device with plenty of features that we still don't know even after using it for years. So, here we've picked some of the best hidden features to show you to achieve things easier and faster.

1. iPhone Keyboard Trick

It's been much easier to add symbols to your messages than you have thought earlier. Simply press and hold the 123 key and then slide your finger to the symbols that you want to insert and then again slide to ABC button. All the symbols will be added.

2. Other iPhone Keyboard Trick

This one's very simple, but it's time saver while you're chatting with someone. Instead of going to symbol to just type a full-stop, simply double type the space bar and it'll place a full-stop at the end, providing you to start with a new sentence.

3. Shake it to Undo

This is also a time saver sometimes, as if you have typed a long sentence and accidentally it has been deleted, then rather typing the whole sentence again, simple shake your iPhone to get undo or redo options. Take care of your iPhone before shaking it.

4. Stop Playing Music Using a Timer

This one is a really nice trick for those who fall asleep while listening music. The music goes on for the whole night, and when you wake-up, you'll find your whole battery drained-up. You can simple set the timer to stop the music whenever you want.

It's quite easy to set the timer, just go to clock app, and in the bottom right tap 'Timer'. Now you can set your time, for how long you want the music to go on, then tap 'When Timer Ends'. Now move down to the bottom and select 'Stop Playing', and press start on the browser and begin listening your music.

5. Your iPhone's Flash will Blink on Every Incoming Message

This trick is really a handy one. You can just put your Flash on whenever there's a message alert. Go to Settings > General > Accessibility, scroll down to the hearing section and turn on the 'LED Flash for Alerts'. This feature is specially designed for hearing impaired people.

Pretty Amazing Hololens Will Take A Few Years

Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates held a Reddit AMA today, and, as you could have probably guessed, someone asked him about the company's recently announced HoloLens technology. Gates' verdict? He's excited, but says it might be a few years before we see the true potential of the technology.

"The HoLolens is pretty amazing," Gates said. "Microsoft has put a lot into the chips and the software. It is the start of virtual reality. Making the device so you don't get dizzy or nauseous is really hard--the speed of the alignment has to be super super fast. It will take a few years of software applications being built to realize the full promise of this."

For its part, Microsoft doesn't think HoloLens is like anything else out there. It doesn't compete directly with the likes of virtual reality headsets such as Oculus Rift or Project Morpheus because HoloLens is "something different," Microsoft says.

Someone else asked Gates what he thinks the next 30 years holds in terms of advancements to technology overall. Gates said he foresees lots of progress, including mechanical robots being used to pick fruit, among other things.

"There will be more progress in the next 30 years than ever," Gates said. "Even in the next 10 problems like vision and speech understanding and translation will be very good. Mechanical robot tasks like picking fruit or moving a hospital patient will be solved. Once computers/robots get to a level of capability where seeing and moving is easy for them then they will be used very extensively."

The full AMA is a fascinating read. Though Gates doesn't answer questions about Xbox or gaming directly, he does talk about his various humanitarian efforts, his dogs, and machine super-intelligence, among many other topics. You can read the full post here.
