Rolls-Royce Develops Drone Shipbots to take Charge on tomorrow's Ocean

Rolls-Royce is working hard on developing unmanned cargo boats that can roam around the ocean's packed with containers, controlled by the captain sitting safely on the shore using virtual facility to pilot their unmanned vehicles.

According to Bloomberg reports regarding the project, it aims to make the shipping industry less expensive, easier and much safer. The shipping market is worth more than $375 billion annually. These automated unmanned vehicle will aim to make that huge transactions safer and more efficient.

According to reports, Rolls-Royce’s early designs will be 5 percent lighter in weight, with 12 to 15 percent less fuel consumption per trip. You are also saving around $3,300 in crew costs per day, that will cut around 40% of total operating costs incurred for manned shipping ocean-bound shipping.

Lenovo Unveils Its Second Smartphone: S850

Lenovo launched its second smartphone S850 at an event at Barcelona, Spain after its brilliant work as S860. Despite their similar looks, the features of both phones are very different.

The previous model S860 is 10mm thick, while the S850 has a 8.2mm slender body. Their body color and designs are also very different as S850 comes only in white & pink and its chasis is made-up of glass similar to iPhone 4 and 4S.

Lenovo S850 is also much cheaper, with a US price of $269 of an unlocked phone, whereas S860 comes in at $349. S850 also comes with a back glowing Lenovo logo whose color can be customized according to different notifications.

It's hard to understand, why S850 is much cheaper than S860?

Both runs on an Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system, S850 where has 1 GB RAM and a battery with capacity of 2000mAh. Lenovo S850 has an upper edge as it supports all the Lenovo's latest custom apps with incredible online storage, sharing and security facilities.

According to Otis and Parviz, "Diabetes is a growing problem affecting one out of 19 people on earth and as the blood sugar level keeps fluctuating throughout the day, people use finger sticks which is very painful, though tears can also be used to measure the glucose levels".

They also added that "we are planning to develop smart chip and sensors so small that looks like bits of glitter and antenna thinner than a human hair to crack the mystery of tear glucose with higher accuracy and can also be generated once per second". The lenses would also serve as warnings to the wearer. For example, tiny LEDs can be integrated into the lenses to indicate when the blood sugar level crosses above or below certain thresholds.
